Review: The Scapegracers by Hannah Abigail Clarke

I finished reading The Scapegracers last night and felt like my bones had become brittle from having spent too long staring directly into a corruscating radioactive blast of gay angst and darkly glorious magic.

I had reached to touch the dark burning heart of a hidden sun that crouched pulsing at the core of this book and it had reach back. The language is fucking amazing, angular and lush at the same time — brittle glass filled with thrumming electricity, this book is INCANDESCENT

After setting it down all I could do was fall back boneless and marvel that I had not been burnt to a smoking husk from having let those words run through me and into my veins.

Clarke has written an absolutely stunning book and if you've EVER listened to me listen closely, press your fevered ear against the cold door of this crypt and listen for the whisper that stirs within. Can you hear it yessss I am telling you to GO ORDER THIS BOOK IMMEDIATELY

Continued orders are vital to authors. It shows the publisher their gamble and faith were well-founded and also...you just gotta fucking read this book. (has one of the most interesting takes on GRIMOIRES ever)

So..what are you waiting for?
